Pool reservations

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division will begin taking reservations next week for private pool parties and pavilion rentals at Doug Russell and the Washington Family Aquatic Center.

A person can book a party online on the City of Midland webpage under the Parks and Recreation tab (www.midlandtexas.gov) or can book your party in person at the MLK Center (2300 Butternut Lane) or the Parks Office (2701 W . Elizabeth).

Pool reservations will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights only. Fees are $250 deposit and $700 rental fee (fees include lifeguards). Pool reservations can be made from June 3 to July 30.

Rental of the pavilion to Doug Russell will also begin at this time. The pavilion can be rented on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the entire session from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays, the pavilion can be rented from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. pavilion is a $100 deposit and $100 rental fee.

City Hiring Pool Staff

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division is now hiring pool staff for the 2022 summer season. Positions available at both Doug Russell and the Washington Aquatic Center are lifeguards, cashiers and pool managers.

Lifeguards must be able to hold an American Red Cross lifeguard certificate. Training will be provided to obtain this certification.
