A grand explosion of color and art is about to hit Coral Gables.
MoonMat Hospitality’s Crudos Art House, which opens in early May, is sister property to Crudos Fusion Art Wynwood and Crudos Fusion Art Hallandale in Broward. The new two-story, 5,000 square foot space, in the former AdLib space south of Barnes & Noble on Miracle Mile, will host 85 guests and entertain them with art installations, live music, cocktails and cuisine Asian-American-Latin.
“We designed Crudos Art House to be an energetic space that will be Coral Gables’ new favorite spot for a night out, whether it’s an after-work happy hour or dinner with friends. “said Daniel Materan, COO of MoonMat. .
Designed by Bea Interiors, the restaurant features a huge painting of various pop culture stars inspired by Paolo Beronese’s “The Wedding at Cana”. Throughout the restaurant, designer touches abound, with artwork by Baccarat [email protected] Bears, a life-size astronaut geisha and a tribute to Miami’s favorite work of art: the viral duct tape banana by Maurizio Cattelan who made so much noise at Art Basel. Miami Beach in 2019.
The first floor is the main restaurant, where the menu will include signature items from Wynwood’s flagship product as well as menu items exclusive to the Gables location.
Only at Les Pignons will you find Golden Crab House, scallops with foie gras, crispy rice with lobster, duck gyoza and lamb chops with Yuzu. Diners can also try signature sashimi cuts and specialty rolls, and perhaps consider matcha cheesecake and chocolate miso cake for dessert.
Head up the stairs in front of the DJ booth and you’ll find yourself in Aka, the second-floor cocktail bar, dedicated to whiskey and Japanese cocktails. You can also order temaki handrolls there.
After 11 p.m., upstairs and downstairs, the fine-dining vibe gives way to a more club vibe with live DJ and bottle service. Only guests 21 and older will be admitted
The goal of the bright decor and art, music, craft cocktails and cuisine is to stimulate the senses of each guest, said Andres Monroy, co-operator of MoonMat, adding that Crudos Art House Coral Gables is the next logical step.
“The art, the food, the drinks, the music, the design, everything has to work in harmony to create an overall experience,” he said. “The opening of Coral Gables is not the opening of a third in the family of Crudos concepts. It’s an evolution of what we started at Wynwood.
